How we test our bikes: for your safety and a better riding experience

A bicycle that is lightweight, compact, and stylish must also be safe and durable. That’s why our folding bikes undergo a series of rigorous tests, far beyond the legal requirements. We want to show you how we put our bikes to the test so you can rely on your VELLO in every riding situation.

1. Frame and Fork Tests

The frame is the heart of every bicycle. Our VELLO frames are made from high-quality materials such as chromoly steel or titanium. Lightweight, strong, flexible.

Here’s how we test:

  • Durability Tests: We simulate thousands of kilometers with full load. The frame is subjected to continuous stress on the test bench until we’re sure: the bike delivers what it promises.

  • Impact Tests: What happens with curbs or potholes? Our frames and forks are repeatedly subjected to vertical shocks to ensure their safety in everyday riding conditions.

2. Brake and Safety Tests. Control is Everything

Safety starts with braking. Our bikes come standard with powerful disc brakes from Shimano or MAGURA.

Here’s how we test:

  • Brake tests according to ISO4210, EN15194, and DIN79010: We test braking performance in wet and dry conditions and under various loads.

3. Certifications. Beyond the Standard

Our bicycles meet the standards ISO 4210, EN 15194, DIN 79010, and UL 2849—but that’s not enough for us.

That’s why we test:

  • According to extended standards, such as the EFBE®-TRI-TEST®, which goes far beyond official norms.

  • In cooperation with leading independent testing institutes, including EFBE®, SGS®, and TÜV®.
