Where are you from and where do you currently live?
I’m from Milano, Italy, I was born here and I still live here.

What do you do for work?
I’m an industrial designer.

What inspires you?
I’m very curious by nature. Every project I take on starts from something that inspires me, whether that’s nature, art, fashion, craftsmanship, material processing techniques, or even an ethical principle. Curiosity fuels everything.

Cycling in Milan: Movement with Meaning

Milan isn’t just a beautiful city to bike in, it’s a statement. From advocacy to culture, the cycling scene here is deeply rooted in community and creativity.

What makes cycling special to you?
To me, riding a bike has always felt like flying. But beyond that, I’ve always been fascinated by the seemingly simple, yet intricate technology of the bicycle. Since university, cycling has also been my form of urban activism. It’s connected me to the Milanese cycling community, the local bicycle kitchens, and to events like Critical Mass, it’s been an amazing journey.

Your favorite places for cycling?
I love the city at night, when it feels calm and full of possibilities. The narrow cobbled streets in the center and the roads that lead out to the countryside are some of my favorite routes.

A secret spot in Milan you like to visit a lot?
There are a few hidden, car-free gems I love to pass through, like the Vicolo dei Lavandai or the “Tumbùn” of Via San Marco, with its old pound lock designed by Leonardo da Vinci. They're peaceful and full of history.

Post-Cycling Delights: Where to Eat and Unwind

Cycling through Milan builds up quite the appetite and thankfully, there are cozy, bike-friendly places perfect for recharging. Here are some top recommendations:

Mosso Restaurant – A relaxed atmosphere with a garden space.

Circolo San Luis 1946 – A classic local spot.

Arci Bellezza – Great for grabbing a bite and soaking in the community vibe.

Santeria Paladini – A cultural hub with food, drinks, and events.

Upcycle Café – Tailor-made for cyclists, with great coffee and a welcoming vibe.

Urban Mobility and the VELLO Advantage

In a fast-moving city like Milan, having a nimble and stylish way to get around makes all the difference.

What do you like about the VELLO folding bike?
It’s just fun! The frame is super reactive, it responds instantly to changes in speed or direction. It's even good for wheelies! Either way, it's perfect for the city, and let’s be honest: the design is really stylish.

What does urban mobility mean to you?
Urban mobility equals biking. As simple as that.

Final Thoughts

Milan offers a special rhythm to those who choose to explore it by bike. From late-night rides to tucked-away alleys, every turn reveals something new. As Gabriele puts it:

“To make good design you need the same things you need to have a good life: inventiveness, ethics, and playfulness.”

So, hop on your VELLO, embrace the city, and discover the unexpected joy waiting at every pedal stroke.

Where will your VELLO take you next?
