In recent years, VELLO has established itself as an international and independent label for innovative mobility products “Made in Austria”. High-quality components for VELLO bikes are manufactured in Austria's first folding bike factory in Vienna with great attention to detail.
2014
The original idea
The idea for the VELLO bike was born before a trip to Cuba: the first prototypes were developed and the VELLO® brand was registered. Patents follow.
2015
Red Dot Design Award
VELLO Bike is honored with the Red Dot Design Award “Best of the Best”. Production of the first series through successful crowdfunding. VELLO Bike enters the market and establishes itself internationally.
2017
VELLO bike gewinnt Europäischen Produktpreis
Launch of the third generation of the VELLO Bike and the electric version: the lightest e-folding bike in its class, compact folding and K.E.R.S. technology.
With the VELLO Bike+, VELLO launches the first self-charging e-folding bike on the market.
2019
Presentation Ultralight titanium model
After the opening of the first flagship store in Vienna, VELLO presents the ultra-light titanium model and wins the Good Design Award, the Austrian State Prize for Design and the German Federal Prize for Ecodesign.
2020
Doubling production
VELLO doubles production and further expands its dealer network in Europe and Asia.
2023
VELLO Story
VELLO continues to develop its product range and launches its first cargo bike on the market. The innovative design of the VELLO SUB wins gold at the German Design Award.
