Cargo Bike Subsidy 2025 - Austria
Starting from 09.10.2025, the subsidy program from the Federal Ministry of Innovation, Mobility and Infrastructure (BMIMI) is available again. This supports the private use of electric cargo bikes with € 900,-. The expected duration of the subsidy is until 26.02.2026.
Requirements:
- the payload capacity must be at least 60 kg or total load capacity (including rider) 140 kg (product data sheet of the VELLO SUB)
- the power must not exceed 600 W and the maximum speed must not exceed 25 km/h
- proof that the battery is charged with electricity from renewable energy sources (electricity contract)
- The dealer or manufacturer provides a free comprehensive bike service with the purchase. This must be noted on the invoice.
Subsidy amount:
- The subsidy amount is a flat rate of € 900, but maximum 50% of the purchase price.
