(E-)Folding Bike Subsidy 2025 - Austria
Starting from 09.10.2025, the subsidy program from the Federal Ministry for Innovation, Mobility and Infrastructure (BMIMI) is available again. This subsidizes the private use of e-folding bikes with € 500,- while funding lasts.
Requirements:
- (Electric) folding bikes (folded dimensions max. 110*80*40 cm)
- For e-folding bikes, the power must not exceed 600 W and the maximum speed must not exceed 25 km/h
- For e-folding bikes, proof must be provided that the battery is charged with electricity from renewable energy sources (electricity contract)
- The dealer or manufacturer must provide a free major bike service with the purchase. This must be noted on the invoice.
Subsidy Amount:
- The subsidy amount is a flat rate of € 500. (All VELLO folding bikes)
