VELLO Unveils the World's First Electric Folding Bike Featuring the New Bosch HubLine Motor
With the VIA+, VELLO is launching an electric folding bike that celebrates several firsts at once: it is the world's first folding bike equipped with the new Bosch HubLine hub motor and, at the same time, one of the lightest and most compact e-folding bikes in its class. The VIA+ combines the power of a full-fledged e-bike with the flexibility that has always defined VELLO.
A New Drive System That Thinks Ahead
At the heart of the VIA+ is the new Bosch HubLine rear hub motor, delivering up to 45 Nm of torque and 400 watts of peak power. What makes it unique is its intelligent sensor technology: an integrated incline sensor detects gradients and riding conditions in real time and automatically adjusts assistance levels accordingly.
The result is an exceptionally natural riding experience and impressive range, despite the compact 250 Wh battery.
Through the Bosch eBike Flow app, riders also benefit from navigation, ride data analysis, range management, and digital security features such as eBike Lock, location tracking, and automatic movement notifications.
Foldable – Without Compromising Ride Quality
The VIA+ is built around VELLO's patented diamond frame, which deliberately avoids a folding hinge in the main frame. This design provides outstanding torsional stiffness and delivers stable, direct handling comparable to that of a conventional bicycle—while still folding into a compact package within seconds.
The frame is constructed from double-butted Columbus chromoly steel tubing. The frame, components, and complete bicycle are certified according to ISO 4210 MTB standards. This makes the VIA+ the world's only MTB-certified folding bike, suitable not only for urban commuting but also for adventures beyond paved roads.

The VIA+ is available in two versions designed to meet different riding needs.

Designed for riders seeking maximum gear range and sporting versatility:

Beyond its motor and frame, the VIA+ incorporates numerous practical features that make a real difference in daily use:
Lighting: Integrated SUPERNOVA lighting system compliant with German StVZO regulations, powered directly by the main battery.
Brakes: Hydraulic Shimano disc brakes for reliable stopping power.
Comfort: Wide Schwalbe Big Apple tires with RaceGuard puncture protection, combined with a suspended rear triangle featuring a magnetic locking mechanism and integrated elastomer suspension.
Practicality: Adjustable seatpost accommodating riders from 150 cm to 195 cm tall, plus USB-C charging for smartphones directly from the cockpit.
Modularity: Compatible with removable front and rear racks (MIK mounting system) and foldable mudguards.
Battery & Range
The removable 250 Wh battery can be conveniently charged at home or in the office and provides a range of up to 62 km (39 miles) per charge.
For longer rides, an optional second battery can double total capacity to up to 500 Wh.
Test Ride the VIA+ at EUROBIKE 2026
The VIA+ will make its public debut at EUROBIKE in Frankfurt, where visitors can experience the bike firsthand and take it for a test ride.
